Yes. The RTA requires you attend a pre-learner course. The course is two half days of training and requires no previous experience. You will be provided with a helmet, gloves and scooter (or motorcycle). The course is subsidized by the State government and only costs $68, which can be paid with a credit card when you make your reservation. Phone RTA on 132213. You will then need to complete a knowledge test. Sample questions can be viewed on www.rta.nsw.gov.au.

Yes, you can ride up to a 50cc scooter without taking any test providing you have held a full license before February 2001. You do not have to display L Plates and you can take a passenger on the back. However, if you want to ride up to a 125cc machine, you need: the Category A on your license, to pass a CBT and display L Plates. You cannot take a passenger on the back.

In New Mexico, scooters over 49 cc's are considered "motorcycles" by law. They require insurance, a motorcycle license plate and a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license. If they fall below the 50cc category, have an automatic transmission and go no faster than 30 mph, they are considered motorized bicycles, just like mopeds, and you do not need a motorcycle license plate or the endorsement.

Most scooters operate via an automatic transmission, so it's rather like riding and using the controls on a cycle... but when you twist the handgrip the scooter does all the hard work. It’s a lot of fun!

You can only ride your scooter on the road if its an 8mph model and is fitted with lights, indicators, hazard flashers auxiliary brake. This does not mean that a scooter with lights ect. but is only capable of 4mph can be on the road except when crossing from one side to the other.

Only to cross the road. Mobility scooters are not motor vehicles and must be ridden on footpaths whenever possible. Yes - we stock quite a few different types of mobility scooter accessories which we can fit for you. If you have a specific request for something we do not stock we will endeavour to obtain it for you. Mobility scooter batteries normally last 2 - 3 years.

Students can use their own motorcycle as long as it is 350 cc or less. Current registration and proof of insurance (minimum required by law) will need to be provided prior to riding on the range. The motorcycle must also be in mechanically sound condition.

No, in most states our kit does not classify as a motor vehicle/moped. Check your local laws to be safe.

Laws vary from state to state. Some states require riders to be at least 16 and have a valid driver's license. Some don't. Call your local police department or DMV for more information.

That depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. If you are just going to scoot around close to home then a 50cc will be okay, but if you plan to scoot all over town we recommend a 150cc. 50cc scooters will go a maximum of 40-50 mph, depending on the model; 150cc scooters maximum of 60-65 mph; and 250cc scooters will max out at about 80-85 mph.

Our ATV License Plate Kit does not make your ATV street legal. Some states do allow ATV's to be used on the road when outfitted with the proper equipment. However, the ATV License Plate Kit is for displaying your off- road registration decal and/or assigned numbers on the back of your ATV.

There are bike racks around the College and you will need to remember to bring a lock. There are also car parks and a designated area for scooters for learners to use.

However, it would be a sensible precaution to take out an insurance policy to cover your mobility scooter against accidental damage, theft and third party liability, in case of damage or injury to someone else or their property. Yes, all our bikes require minimal assembly, you don’t need mechanical experience. For most of our models, you simply need to put on the front wheel, handlebars, brake pads, suspension, wing mirrors and connect the battery. We supply the tools you need.

cc – You don’t need to take any further tests if you have a full UK driving licence taken before 1st February 2001. Otherwise you will need to take a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) test.

We are able to provide manual wheelchairs for long term hire at a charge of £2.50 per day. We also have two small, fold-up scooters available for long term hire at a cost of £5 per day. When requiring a vehicle for long term hire it is advisable to book well in advance. Please note that charges for long term hire are non refundable.
